Pride Productions develops “Worcester Youth Marketing Group”

August 9, 2007) (PPI), through the
Multimedia Clubhouse has created the marketing and advertising team
entitled, “Worcester Youth Marketing Group”, through
the City of Worcester’ 2007 summer youth
program, funded by a donation to the city from Saint Vincent Hospital.
This project results in the creation of
jobs for youth who are Worcester residents
in the field of the multi-media and
technology. The Worcester Youth Marketing Group Summer 2007 are
creating the following project:

(PPIWM)
The PPIWM team is in the process of constructing
Phase 2 of YouthJobNet.org, (YJN)“the next generation
workforce”, a web-based resource that is being created by youth to
assist job seekers and employers link individuals with jobs and
resources. In addition, YouthJobNet.org will provide employers with a
tool to market jobs and careers to the city’s youth population. YJN
will provide individuals seeking employment with helpful resources such
as career development workshops, education scholarships, G.E.D. classes,
employment tips, community announcements and more. PPI anticipates that
“YouthJobNet.org” will develop into a full service website
targeting qualified youth employees in central Massachusetts.

(PPIM)
The PPIM team is in the process of creating a half
hour youth television production titled, "Youth In Politics". The format
will have a group of youth discuss and debate various political topics
and have invited political officials on the show. The show will have two
hosts in addition a group of youth who will have a chance to have a
roundtable discussion about the program topics. In addition, youth will
have the opportunity to cover various political non-partisan events. The
entire show will be operated, developed, scripted, and video taped by
youth. Introducing a half hour youth political program allows a venue
for youth to discuss topics and issues that are important to them and is
a natural progression to continue youth involvement in quality civic
engagement.
Program Background
Pride Productions, Inc. (PPI), a non-profit
corporation, was formed in 1994 to produce television programs and
visual media that highlight greater Worcester diverse cultural
community. PPI’ mission is to “empower youth to expand their career
opportunities for the future using multi-media and technology”.
PPI has been recognized locally and
nationally for its innovative programs and collaborations with
organizations and educational institutions for the benefit of youth.
